Your contribution can make a difference. The well-known Austrian actress Gabrielle Jacoby and a group of like minded animal lovers, both Greeks and foreigners, founded the Ark in 1997. It was formed primarily to alleviate the suffering of stray and abandoned animals on the island of Corfu. The Ark is a registered charity and is administered by an elected board of trustees who are responsible for the various functions necessary to ensure the smooth running of the organization.

Beau came into our rescue with his young mum and siblings when he was one day old. He is featured on the December page of our 2014 calendar. Buster and Digga were surrendered as unwanted pets. They now live a very contented life together in County Clare and are pictured on the November page of our 2014 calendar. Rex is a handsome cairn terrier handed in as his owner was unable to cope with him. He is now happily rehomed and on the front cover of our 2014 calendar.
